A great spot to camp here at Chapman Pond is Wolf's Den Family Campground; whitewater paddling is fine on Salmon River. If you need a spot to stay Waters Edge Resort and Spa is a great choice; why not camp at Devil's Hopyard State Park while you're here at Chapman Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Places like Gillette Castle State Park are great to explore, and Chapman Pond is not the only place close by, Boardman Pond is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Get drenched paddling on Hammonasset River, and if you've had enough of Chapman Pond, Waterhouse Pond is nearby. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Chapman Pond get into the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Chapman Pond temperatures descend to the 10's. Chester Creek is a good site to take a look at, and great hiking is available along the Mattabesset | |

Trail. Chapman Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November while February is regularly the driest month. So many enjoyable things in close proximity to Chapman Pond, completely impressive.
A nice spot in close proximity to Chapman Pond is Hemlock Valley. At Waterhouse Pond Dam right next door to Chapman Pond there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and the panorama of Fort Hill is striking. Having a magnificent
time at Chapman Pond is trouble-free. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Old Saybrook, and if you're here and you like golf, you can have a look at Hillside Links Golf Course. There's splendid hiking along the Washington Trail, and the slopes of Powder Ridge are so inviting nobody can resist.
