Candlewood Ledge is something you shouldn't miss while you're here at Chalkers Millpond, and Chalkers Millpond Dam is a pretty location. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Upper Pond, and Wolf's Den Family Campground is a fine local campground. This is a tremendous area for people who like lakes. it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Chalkers Millpond descend into the 10's. Be careful coming to Chalkers Millpond, you might not
ever wanna return home again. Salmon River is a fine whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Chalkers Millpond. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling
on Hammonasset River, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Old Saybrook is a good choice. Chalkers Millpond is a wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is mostly the driest month.

 | 17 miles away I am staying at odatah camp ground as I write this thay have wi-fi which is great. This is our first time here and we love it. we will be comming back many more times. We are staying in a nice cabin, but thay have very good camp sites as well. are cabin has a fridge,doubble bed,three twin beds but the (twins are a little narrow). This morning we played horseshoes Yhe seasonal campers were very under standing of are unfamiliarity with the game and had a wonderful time.we then went swimming in the lake. that was great. we then went in the pool and the hottub. hottub was nice and big. we then played shuffleboard and went to a barbeque(exellent ribs)and listen to a very good band. All in one day. can't wait for tomorrow.... |
