Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Upper Pond, and Wolf's Den Family Campground is a fine local campground. This is a tremendous area for people who like lakes. Lower Pond is a lake in the neighborhood; Deep Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at. A visit       to Great Meadow revives the spirit, and playing golf is lots of fun at Fox Hopyard Golf Club. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Chalkers Millpond. Coults Hole is in the vicinity and always magnificent to explore, and a tour to Selden Neck State Park is a nice idea. This lake is so wonderful. Brockway Bar is a great site to discover, and if you came for an overnight stay Devil's Hopyard State Park is a fine spot to camp. Mount Archer is clearly                  visible from Chalkers Millpond, and Executive Inn and Suites Old Saybrook is a tremendous place to get some rest. All through the warmest time of the year highs here at Chalkers Millpond reach the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Chalkers Millpond descend into the 10's. Be careful coming to Chalkers Millpond, you might not ever wanna return home again. Salmon River is a fine whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Chalkers Millpond. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hammonasset River, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Old Saybrook is a good choice.
