What would winter be without some skiing at Ski Sundown, and a great close by hotel is Dutch Iris Inn, The. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is lovely, you get a fine vista of Crag Mountain from Carson Pond; stopping by Stratton Brook State Park is a brilliant thing       to do. This lake is so wonderful. Carson Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is January. Man, is there loads of fun stuff to do near Carson Pond. There's so much to do here at Carson Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Prospect Mountain Campground is a delightful spot for that, and you can go for a hike on the County Road Trail. High temperatures at Carson Pond during the                  warm months are in the 80's, and the overnight is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Carson Pond are in the 0's. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. The slopes of Blandford are so inviting noone can resist, and of course, this is a great area for folks who like lakes, Winchell Reservoir is a lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. If you're looking for a beach close to Carson Pond, we recommend Babbs Beach; don't forget to take a wonderful little spree to Belden Brook. After a long day outdoors Elm Motel is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and Carson Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Southwick Acres Campground is a great local campground. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Hubbard River, and wonderful hiking is available along the Richard Trail. You're possibly hooked on lakes, Cooley Lake is one of those nearby, and since you're here you can play some golf at Edgewood Golf Course.
