If you come at the right time of year, Roaring Brook River offers some splendid whitewater; going for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail is always a tremendous adventure. This lake is so wonderful. This is a splendid vicinity for people who like lakes. Valley Shores Pond South is a lake in close proximity, and an interesting thing to stop at right next door to Capello Pond is Guilford Lakes Lower Dam. Podunk Great Plain is a good site to check out; Dowd Hollow Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out. At Capello Pond all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 60's. into the 10's through winter nights. This place, Capello Pond, it clearly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. This is a popular location for folks from New Haven-Milford, and a great nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Guilford. A round
of golf at nearby Guilford Lakes Golf Course is a brilliant way to kill some time; if you need a spot to stay Tower Inn and Suites is a delightful choice. Hit the beach if you want, Circle Beach is practically right here; camping
is available at Hammonasset Beach State Park. Chatfield Hollow State Park is a pleasant site to stop at, and if you came for an overnight stay Riverdale Camp Sites is a delightful place to camp. Yeah, come here to Capello Pond
for a glorious time. There are great spots to discover along the Washington Trail; Jacobs Public Beach is relatively nearby if you're in a beach type of mood. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Hammonasset River in
a kayak; you get a tremendous view of Hungry Hill from here. This lake is so wonderful. Mount Southington has perfect slopes and a friendly staff. Lakes are magnificent; Guilford Lake is a lake that's near Capello Pond. There
is a good hiking trail near Capello Pond called the West Woods Trail, and glorious skiing awaits you at Powder Ridge.
