    Burr Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Yeah, come here to Burr Pond for a nice time. The Mattatuck Trail offers hiking at its best. Lakes are good; Sucker Brook Reservoir is a lake that's near Burr Pond. Hiking along the Tunxis Trail is good fun, and at Burr Pond you always meet someone from Torrington. Very great water scenery is available at Burr Pond Dam near Burr Pond; if you come at the right time of year, Still River offers some good  
   whitewater.
Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn - Torrington; why not a little side trip to Sucker Brook. There's a tremendous forest in the neighborhood of Burr Pond called Paugnut State Forest, and camping is available at Laurel Crest Campground. Gotta ski! Mohawk Mountain is a wonderful location to do that, and you're almost certainly interested in lakes, Travis Pond is one of those close by.

               from Burr Pond, and do schedule some time to stop by Bristol Cove if you have a chance. This lake is so wonderful. Quality Inn & Suites is a brilliant spot to get some rest, and a nice spot like Burr Pond State Park is too wonderful to leave out. Burr Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is when it's the driest.
This place, Burr Pond, it definitely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. If you came for an overnight stay Burr Pond State Park is a glorious spot to camp, and Burr Pond is right by the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Burr Pond usually tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Burr Pond.
The slopes of Ski Sundown are so inviting nobody can resist, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Sandy Brook River.
