Buckingham Reservoir sees pretty high levels of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is commonly the driest month. Throughout the long summer days here at Buckingham Reservoir, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. All through       the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Buckingham Reservoir sink into the 10's. The snow is splendid at Powder Ridge, and if you came to camp Markham Meadows Campgrounds is a wonderful place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Birch Mountain is easily seen from Buckingham Reservoir, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Mattabesset Trail. There are some perfect                  whitewater spots on Salmon River, and a tremendous location like Gay City State Park is too great to leave out. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford here, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Manchester, CT. If you come at the right time of year, Roaring Brook River offers some fine whitewater, and Manchester Inn is a glorious location to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Buckingham Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Nelson's Family Campground is a fine place for that. Be careful coming to Buckingham Reservoir, you might not ever wanna go home again.
