Brooks Pond is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Gentile's Camp Ground is a fine place to camp nearby, and a great location for whitewater paddling is Farmington River - Collinsville. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Waterbury is a wonderful choice; the slopes of Mount Southington are so inviting       noone can resist. Mixville Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting, and the Quinnipiac Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Near Brooks Pond you stumble on a golf course called Highland Golf Course, and a lake nearby is Mixville Pond. Brooks Pond truly is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. You're sure to bump into some great people from New Haven-Milford here; from Brooks Pond you acquire a                  fine sight of Bluff Head. The high level of precipitation makes Brooks Pond a pretty wet place; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn WATERBURY; there's great hiking along the Tunxis Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Brooks Pond has to offer, you can camp at Black Rock State Park, and don't leave Brooks Pond without first going for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area near Brooks Pond has to offer. Mixville Pond Dam is worth stopping at while you're here, and if you get bored of Brooks Pond you could also explore close by West Brook Reservoir. Throughout the summer here at Brooks Pond, high temperatures generally reach the 80's while night lows are usually in the 50's.
