Whitewater paddling is good on Hammonasset River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Woodings Pond. There's so much to do here at Broad Brook Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Eagle Feather is a brilliant spot for that, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Mattabesset Trail. An afternoon playing golf at Sleeping Giant Golf                  Course is always a pleasure, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Mount Southington.
