     One of the best things about Branford Supply Ponds is its proximity to Limewood Beach, and good hiking is available along the Mattabesset Trail. A swamp like Rose Swamp right next door to Branford Supply Ponds has lots of interesting things to see; do stop by Branford Supply Ponds Dam since you're here. Branford Supply Ponds beyond doubt is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. If you need a location to stay Branford-Days Inn is a brilliant choice,  
   and of course Burrs Brook flows through this region.
This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Hammonasset River; Wharton Brook State Park is both wonderful and delightful. For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Branford Supply Ponds. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. All through the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter
 
               for Branford Supply Ponds tend to be in the 10's. Don't leave Branford Supply Ponds without first going for a hike along the West Woods Trail. There's so much to do here at Branford Supply Ponds that you need to camp here for a while, Riverdale Camp Sites is a great spot for that.
Sylvan Point is not far from Branford Supply Ponds at all, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Twin Lakes Golf Course. During your stay at Branford Supply Ponds do stop at close by Hotchkiss Cove Beach, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express BRANFORD-NEW HAVEN. Branford Supply Ponds commonly gets lots of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest of the months is February.
This lake is so wonderful. At Branford Supply Ponds you always meet someone from New Haven-Milford, and you can never get enough of the fine skiing at Mount Southington. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Branford Supply Ponds, you'll come across Wards Millpond which is a pretty lake; you can stay the night at Hammonasset Beach State Park. There are other places here than Branford Supply Ponds, for example Lidyhites Pond, and the panorama of Baldwin Hill is picturesque.
You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area in the vicinity of Branford Supply Ponds has to offer. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Branford Supply Ponds; Washington Trail is a perfect local trail; skiing at Powder Ridge is one of those things you just must do.

Call the Regional Water Authority and ask for Anita in Recreation, 203-624-6671.  She'll set you up with a permit. Or you can go online, www.rwater.com.  Maltby Lakes are made up of three lakes located off of Route 34 in West Haven.  The permit also gives you access to Lake Saltonstall and Lake Chamberlain for fishing.  There is much more than fishing but you can start off there. Good Luck!...I am looking for directions, so I can go fishing my girl says it is a beautiful spot....

Access only with Regional Water Authority permit (25$/year). Off Rt. 69, turn down Morris Road at Bethany/Woodbridge border. Left at stopsign onto dirt road, second gated entrance on right. Fishing, hiking/running, horseback riding.
Good sized lake for the area, however boating is strictly forbidden. Gorgeous, peaceful surroundings (no houses), and wildlife abounds. The deer often tolerate people closeby. The fishing can be good for the experienced bass fisherman willing to hike around to the various small, scattered areas where casting is possible. These spots are often choked with brush so accurate casting, texas-rigged soft plastic baits, and at least 8lb test line are a must. I've caught a few 4-5lb bass and some good sized pickerel....
