Put some time aside to spend at Massacoe Spring if you're here at Bond Pond; Residence Inn Hartford Avon is a nice spot to get some rest. People from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford love to come to Bond Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A good location for whitewater paddling close to Bond Pond is Farmington River - Riverton, and camping is available at American Legion State Forest. If you came for an overnight stay Austin Hawes Campground is a brilliant spot to camp; Bond Pond is not the only place close by, Secret Lake is a close by lake. The Mattatuck Trail offers hiking at its best, and Jim Brook is close to Bond Pond and is always a delight to stop by. a popular thing to do around Bond Pond; Tunxis Trail is a good local trail; the skiing at Mount Southington is magnificent. This lake is so wonderful. Stratton Brook State Park is a glorious site to stretch your legs a bit, of
course you could also stop by Unionville Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all. All the water falling down from the sky makes Bond Pond a wet place; August is when you get the most rain here; January on the other hand is
the driest. Good hiking is available along the Metacomet Trail, and Simsbury Farms Golf Course is a golf course nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Here at Bond Pond you can catch a sight of East Hill, and get
your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Farmington River - Collinsville. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Bond Pond reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's.
During the winter highs are in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Bond Pond temperatures sink to the 10's.
