This site is unbeatable, just look at all the fun things to do in close proximity to Black Rock Lake. A magnificent nearby hotel is Courtyard Waterbury Downtown, and in case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bantam River. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little trip to Branch Brook while you're here at Black       Rock Lake; a journey to Black Rock State Park rejuvenates the spirit. This lake is so wonderful. Black Rock Lake is right by the Mattatuck Trail, and Mattatuck State Forest is a wonderful local forest. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Shepaug River. Black Rock Lake is not far at all from Torrington, and if you need a place to stay Hampton Inn Waterbury is a pleasant choice. For the period of the warm months highs here at Black Rock Lake reach the 70's. Once                  the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. During the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Black Rock Lake descend into the 10's. Black Rock Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Branchbrook Campground is a pleasant local campground, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Woodbury. Black Rock Lake gets a large amount of water; the month with most of the rain is June, and February on the other hand is the driest. Any time is a pleasant time at Black Rock Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. Black Rock Dam has glorious water scenery and it's in the vicinity of Black Rock Lake; Ski Sundown has glorious slopes and a friendly staff.
