Going for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and Candlewood Suites HARTFORD/MERIDEN is a splendid place to get some rest. Here at Black Pond you'll probably meet some people from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford; if you come at the right time of year, Hammonasset River offers some pleasant whitewater. Pond. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Roaring Brook River; you could always explore Preston Notch. If you need a location to stay Four Points By Sheraton Meriden is a fine choice; you'll discover a delightful lake called Black Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. There is a splendid hiking trail in the vicinity of Black Pond called the Washington Trail, and do explore High Hill Pond, it's a gorgeous lake. Little City Campground is a great local campground; a round
of golf at nearby Indian Springs Golf Club is a fine way to kill some time. Black Pond is a wet location that gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is usually the
driest month. Skiing at Mount Southington is one of those things you just should do, and the summit of Beseck Mountain can be seen from Black Pond. For the duration of the days of summer at Black Pond temperatures are commonly
in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are regularly in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Black Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. This
lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Powder Ridge while you're here.
