    Black Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. If you get bored of Black Pond, you could also visit nearby Park Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Knights Inn Southington. This lake is so wonderful. The nice people of New Haven-Milford like to hang out nearby, and places like Sleeping Giant State Park are great to take a look at. This place, Black Pond, it definitely has so much outdoors cool stuff. A day at Dossin Park Beach in the neighborhood  
   of Black Pond is time well spent. There's so much to do here at Black Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Eagle Feather is a tremendous site for that.
In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Farmington River - Riverton. The Quinnipiac Trail is a great hiking trail near Black Pond, and the slopes of Powder Ridge are so inviting noone can resist. Some of the water close by flows,
 
               like Dayton Brook; a lake close by is Plants Pond.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Black Pond you can take a hike along the Tunxis Trail, and a good spot for whitewater paddling is Farmington River - Collinsville. You don’t have to go far from Black Pond to see the water at Spring Lake Dam, and Residence Inn By Marriott Southington is a delightful place to get some rest. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Mount Southington, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail.
But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Black Pond. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Black Pond has to offer, you can camp at Gentile's Camp Ground; an afternoon playing golf at Pine Valley Golf Course is always a bliss. Summertime at Black Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's; nighttime lows at Black Pond during the wintertime frequently fall into the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Black Pond a wet place; August is the month that gets the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture.
