Connecticut has many beautiful lakes and Bishops Pond is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Mount Southington is just what you need; on a beautiful day you can have a look at Dossin Park Beach. There are other spots here than Bishops Pond, for example Black Pond, and an afternoon playing golf at Hunter Memorial Golf Course is always a pleasure. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Why not camp at Little City Campground while you're here at Bishops Pond, and if you're popping by from New Haven-Milford, you won't be the only one. in the 30's; nighttime lows during the winter for Bishops Pond tend to be in the 10's. A pleasant place to camp here at Bishops Pond is Camp Eagle Feather, and you can run the rapids of Roaring Brook River. Why not go to Bishops
Pond Dam if you're here, and if you need a site to stay Four Points By Sheraton Meriden is a pleasant choice. The Mattabesset Trail is a great hiking trail near Bishops Pond; the snow is splendid at Powder Ridge. This lake is so wonderful.
You can distinguish Beseck Mountain from Bishops Pond, and a great nearby hotel is Candlewood Suites Hartford/Meriden, Ct. A quick tour to North Branch Spoon Shop Brook near Bishops Pond is a great idea, and nearby you hit upon the
Washington Trail which is a great hiking trail. A good deal of precipitation falls at Bishops Pond; through the month of May you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.
There's whitewater on Hammonasset River for all you adrenaline people; going for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail is always a glorious adventure.
