The warmest time of the year at Big Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and the overnight is a bit colder of course, usually in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Big Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western       Regent Inn is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and Odetah is a perfect local campground. While you're here at Big Pond you will meet lots of people from close by Norwich-New London, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Natchaug River. Pigeon Swamp is an out of the ordinary swamp near Big Pond, and if you came for an overnight stay Odetah Campground is a great place to camp. This lake is so wonderful.                  Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Norwich, and visiting Mansfield Hollow State Park is a tremendous thing to do. Big Pond gets much water; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. This place, Big Pond, it just has so much outdoors amusing stuff. Why not explore close by Jordan Brook while you're here at Big Pond, and a lake nearby is Spencer Pond.
