Besse Park Pond really is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. If you need a place to stay Days Inn - Torrington is a wonderful choice; skiing at Ski Sundown is one of those things you just should do. During the summertime months at Besse Park Pond highs are commonly in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs       in the 20's with temperatures at Besse Park Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. What a spot this is for outdoors people. Why not pop by nearby East Branch Naugatuck River while you're here at Besse Park Pond; Red Mountain is clearly visible from Besse Park Pond. Besse Park Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Macedonia Brook State Park is a good local campground, and don't leave Besse Park Pond without first going for a hike                  along the Mattatuck Trail. Besse Park Pond gets a great deal of water; the month with most of the rain is June, and February is when it's the driest. Enjoy a round of golf at Fairview Farm Golf Course not far from Besse Park Pond, and you can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Mohawk Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is good on Sandy Brook River, and East Branch Dam is delightful. Lakes are splendid; Goodwin Pond is a lake that's in close proximity to Besse Park Pond, and Quality Inn & Suites is a perfect spot to get some rest. There's perfect hiking along the Tunxis Trail. Not far from Besse Park Pond, you'll stumble on East Branch Naugatuck River Reservoir which is a beautiful lake, and of course, everybody loves Burr Pond State Park. Still River has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
