If you want to hit the beach, West Beach is in the vicinity. There's so much to do here at Bendels Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Mountain Workshop is a great site for that. Bendels Pond is a rather wet place regularly with a lot of rain; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January meanwhile is the driest month. If the weather is lovely, you obtain a splendid vista of Webbs Hill from Bendels Pond, and a lake close by

| | is North Stamford Reservoir. If you need a site to stay Stamford Plaza Hotel and CC is a splendid choice; if you're here you can play some golf at E Gaynor Brennan Municipal Golf Course. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Bendels Pond. Thunder Ridge is in the neighborhood of Bendels Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Bendels Pond wouldn’t be complete without a spree to nearby Caumsett State Park, and it's a good idea to have a look at Haviland Brook.
Stamford Suites is a great spot to get some rest, and on a fine day it's a great idea to spend the day at Cummings Park Beach. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Bendels Pond. When the night sets in temperatures
drop down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Bendels Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Norwalk River, and there are plenty of folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here.

 | 19 miles away ... in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to Aus... |
