A fine site to camp here at Bell Shop Pond is Little City Campground, and unsurprisingly, everyone loves Hurd State Park. There's great hiking along the Washington Trail; do stop by Bible Rock Brook if you're here at Bell Shop Pond. This lake is so wonderful. The vista of pretty Big Hill near Bell Shop Pond is good, and a splendid place for whitewater paddling is Roaring Brook River. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Bell Shop Pond; Mattabesset Trail is

| | a nice local trail; a stunning lake like Upper Pond is a great location to explore. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Bell Shop Pond. After a long day outdoors Inn At Middletown is a great site to spend a night or two; dry warm beds await you at Passport Inn and Suites Middletown. Any time is a great time at Bell Shop Pond if you go for the outdoors. Camping is available at Nelson's Family Campground, and you can run the rapids of Hammonasset | |
