Beer Pond is not the only site nearby, Union Ice Company Pond is a nearby lake, and Highland Golf Course is a wonderful golf course close by. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Beer Pond. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's; overnight lows through the winter for Beer Pond       tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Mount Southington is magnificent; brilliant hiking is available along the Mattatuck Trail. Beer Pond is next to West Rock Ridge State Park which is a beautiful place, and Beer Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Gentile's Camp Ground is a tremendous local campground. Beer Pond is not far at all from New Haven-Milford; a brilliant spot to camp here at Beer Pond is Black Rock State                  Park. That right there is lots already, but it keeps on going; Beer Pond has it all. Farmington River - Collinsville is a delightful whitewater spot next to Beer Pond, and you can go for a hike on the Naugatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Hopkins Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Waterbury. The top of Hopkins Hill is easily made out from Beer Pond, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Naugatuck is a nice choice. Beer Pond is a quite wet place generally with a large amount of rainfall; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time.
