It's always fun to stop by Beaverdam Pond. There are some good whitewater spots on Farmington River - Collinsville, and Talcott Mountain State Park is a perfect spot to go. Beaverdam Pond mostly gets a great deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Beaverdam Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, American Legion State Forest is a pleasant local campground; dry warm beds await you at Residence Inn By Marriott Hartford Avon. here at Beaverdam Pond. Tunxis Plantation Country Club is a golf course next to Beaverdam Pond; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Farmington Reservoir. There is a magnificent hiking trail near
Beaverdam Pond called the Tunxis Trail, and skiing at Mount Southington is one of those things you just must do. The friendly folks of Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford like to hang out close by; there's whitewater on Farmington
River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. This lake is so wonderful. The Metacomet Trail is a great hiking trail close to Beaverdam Pond; splendid skiing awaits you at Ski Sundown. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's
even more amusing stuff to do here at Beaverdam Pond. Going for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail is always a good adventure, and a tremendous spot to camp here at Beaverdam Pond is Camp Eagle Feather. The warmest time of the year at
Beaverdam Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Beaverdam Pond temperatures fall to the 10's.
