     Upper Mianus Pond Dam is wonderful and it's right next door to Bear Rock Pond; if you need a location to stay Hyatt Regency Greenwich is a great choice. A tour to Caumsett State Park when you're here at Bear Rock Pond is a good idea, and why not camp at Soundview Sports while you're here at Bear Rock Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are good; McManus Lake is a lake that's right next door to Bear Rock Pond, and nothing beats kicking back at West Beach. The  
   peak of Webbs Hill can be seen from Bear Rock Pond, and you can never get enough of the good skiing at Thunder Ridge.
This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. There's whitewater on Norwalk River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and if you're here you can play some golf at E Gaynor Brennan Municipal Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Stamford Plaza Hotel and CC; not far from Bear Rock Pond you'll
 
               stumble on Attschul Pond which is a lovely lake. Bear Rock Pond is a location with many visitors from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, and Cummings Park Beach is a beach close by that you can stop at.
If you adore the outdoors, you'll love Bear Rock Pond. High temperatures at Bear Rock Pond through the summertime are in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and night lows all through the winter for Bear Rock Pond tend to be in the 10's. East Branch Mianus River flows through this vicinity, and if you came for an overnight stay Mountain Workshop is a good location to camp.
Bear Rock Pond is a quite wet place ordinarily with much precipitation; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here; the driest month is January.

... the three story pink house on chestnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottag...

Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...
