Blissville Brook is a fine local stream, and at Tunnel Dam right next door to Bates Pond there are some attention-grabbing things to see. Throughout the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Bates Pond. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Mohegan Sun is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two; golf can be played at River Ridge Golf Course. everything Bates Pond has to offer, you can camp at Hidden Acres Family Campground. The Spa at Norwich Inn is a good place to get some rest; a short spree to Quinebaug Falls is always worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. People
from Norwich-New London love to come to Bates Pond, and paddling on Natchaug River is so much fun. All the water falling down from the sky makes Bates Pond a wet location; all through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest.
