Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Basset Pond. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Natchaug River, and Comfort Inn & Suites Dayville is a great place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Quinebaug River is a brilliant whitewater spot near       Basset Pond, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Walkabout Trail. A tour to Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is worthwhile, and if you're a golfer then a wonderful nearby course is Brooklyn Golf Course. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Basset Pond. Mashamoquet Brook State Park is both splendid and wonderful, and it's next to Basset Pond; Basset Pond is a location with many visitors                  from Willimantic. If the weather is great here at Basset Pond, you can go for a hike along the Border Trail, and while you're here, you could also stop by pretty Wauregan Pond. There's some interesting stuff to observe at Paradise Lake Dam right next door to Basset Pond. For the duration of the summer highs here at Basset Pond get into the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Basset Pond dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. A wonderful nearby hotel is Americas Best Value Inn Brooklyn; the Munyan Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. You'll locate a delightful lake called Paradise Lake near Basset Pond, and why not camp at Wolf Den Campground while you're here at Basset Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Mashamuquet Brook Campground, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Bush Hill Brook.
