At Bashan Lake you can distinguish Bald Hill; if you've had enough of Bashan Lake, Cone Pond is close by. If you need a spot to stay Executive Inn and Suites Old Saybrook is a perfect choice, and Bashan Lake is not the only location nearby, Moodus Reservoir is a nearby lake. Man, is there heaps of entertaining stuff to do in the vicinity of Bashan Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Salmon River offers some tremendous       whitewater; don't forget to take a magnificent little spree to Molley Brook. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Old Saybrook, and if you came for an overnight stay Devil's Hopyard State Park is a perfect location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. A spree to Bashan Lake wouldn’t be complete without a trip to nearby Gillette Castle State Park, and Wolf's Den Family Campground is a glorious local campground. Bashan Lake commonly gets lots of rain; May                  is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. All through the days of summer at Bashan Lake highs are generally in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Bashan Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Roaring Brook River.
