Simsbury Inn. Barkhamsted Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while January is generally the driest month.
Barkhamsted Reservoir in fact is in the middle of a scenic
outdoors paradise. Camping at Austin Hawes Campground is always a glorious experience, and hiking along the Richard Trail is magnificent fun. Barkhamsted Reservoir is right by the County Road Trail, and a spree to Stratton Brook State
Park invigorates the soul. If you came to camp American Legion State Forest is a delightful location to do that, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Metacomet Trail.
