On a delightful day you get a vista of Cook Hill from Barber Pond, and after a long day outdoors Hyatt Summerfield Suites Hartford North Windsor is a splendid spot to spend a night or two. If the weather is great here at Barber Pond, you can go for a hike along the Mattabesset Trail, and Silver Birch Pond is a good lake nearby. Barber Pond is a rather wet place typically with a lot of rainfall; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is January. Pond is delightful, and you can stay the night at Southwick Acres Campground. Enjoy a round of golf at Keney Golf Course not far from Barber Pond, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the County Road Trail. If you come at the
right time of year, Farmington River offers some wonderful whitewater, and Penwood State Park is a great place to go. If you adore the outdoors, you'll fancy Barber Pond. A wonderful close by hotel is Hartford/Windsor Marriott Airport, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Roaring Brook River.
