Taft Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and you can make out Alworth Hill from Baker Pond. Take a hike on the Walkabout Trail, and Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a good local destination. This lake is so wonderful. Near Baker Pond you discover a golf course called Harrisville Golf Course, and don't leave without visiting Mashamoquet Brook State Park. If you get bored of Baker Pond, you could also explore close by Kelly

Get yourself into a kayak and hit Natchaug River; Baker Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Mashamoquet Brook State Park is a delightful local campground. Brook is certainly a fine idea. Float down the rapids of Quinebaug River in a kayak, and if you need a site to stay Americas Best Value Inn Brooklyn is a wonderful choice. People from Willimantic love to come to Baker Pond, and after
a long day outdoors The Inn at Woodstock Hill is a great site to spend a night or two. All through the warmest time of the year at Baker Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows at Baker Pond during the wintertime ordinarily drop into the 10's.
