This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Axle Shop Pond; Quinnipiac Trail is a good local trail. There's so much to do here at Axle Shop Pond that
you need to camp here for a while, Gentile's Camp Ground is a wonderful location for that. You're sure to run into some cheerful folks from New Haven-Milford here, and Butterworth Dam is pretty. And if you're still looking for more
outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading. Mount Carmel can be seen from Axle Shop Pond, and when you're here it's always fun to have a look at Sleeping Giant State Park.

next door to Axle Shop Pond. If you need a place to stay Hamden-Days Inn is a delightful choice, and Axle Shop Pond is right by the Naugatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Sleeping Giant Golf Course
is always a joy; why not a little side spree to Butterworth Brook. You can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Powder Ridge; a pleasant site for whitewater paddling is Farmington River - Collinsville.
