     There's some flowing water close by, East Branch Mianus River is a stream you can explore while here, and get covered with water paddling on Norwalk River. Camping at Soundview Sports is always a good experience; Sound Beach is a beach nearby that you can explore. You could also stop by Bear Rock Pond if you're here at Attschul Pond; it's close by, and beaches are glorious and Fords Beach is no exception. A good site to camp here at Attschul Pond is Tyler  
   Hill Camp.
All the outdoors exciting stuff close to Attschul Pond will keep you coming back repeatedly. Lots of folks from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown come to Attschul Pond; almost certainly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Holts Ice Pond is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Attschul Pond without visiting Caumsett State Park, and if the weather is pretty, you obtain a glorious vista of Webbs Hill from Attschul
 
               Pond. At Attschul Pond during the summertime months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Attschul Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Hyatt Regency Greenwich is a great choice, and you don’t have to go far from Attschul Pond to see the water at Upper Mianus Pond Dam. All the water falling down from the sky makes Attschul Pond a wet place; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Dry warm beds await you at Stamford Plaza Hotel and CC; since you're here and you like golf, you can stop by E Gaynor Brennan Municipal Golf Course.

...back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to...

Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...
