If you are in New London county it's always a good idea to stop by Aspinook Pond. If you need a place to stay Americinn - Griswold, Ct is a great choice, and if time allows, Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. At Aspinook Pond you always meet someone from Norwich-New London, and Aspinook Pond is not the only spot nearby, Ashland Pond is a nearby lake. If you came for an overnight

| | stay Ross Hill Park is a tremendous place to camp, and at Aspinook Pond Dam in the neighborhood of Aspinook Pond there are some attention-grabbing things to see. Aspinook Pond mostly gets a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically November, that's the one that rains the most while February is typically the driest month. down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Aspinook Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the
wonderful whitewater of Natchaug River; Cory Brook is in the neighborhood of Aspinook Pond and is always a diversion to check out. There are magnificent sites to look at along the Narragansett Trail, as expected you could also
stop at Clayville Pond if you're here; it's not far at all. Hopeville Pond State Park is both fine and beautiful, and it's close to Aspinook Pond; for you golfers we recommend nearby River Ridge Golf Course. And if that's not sufficient,
there's loads more to do in the neighborhood of Aspinook Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Quinebaug River, and Quality Inn Plainfield is a good site to get some rest. If only
every place had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great world it would be. Hopeville Pond State Park is a brilliant campground nearby; you get a great vista of Modock Hill from here.
