There's so much to do here at Abbotts Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Branchbrook Campground is a nice spot for that, and you can go for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Courtyard By Marriott Waterbury; Sperry Pond Dam is scenic. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Abbotts Pond. Goat Brook is a glorious location to check       out, and Crowne Plaza Hotel SOUTHBURY is a splendid location to get some rest. There's great hiking along the Mattatuck Trail, and for you golfers we recommend close by Golf Club at Oxford. Abbotts Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Shepaug River is so much fun. Bantam River has a magnificent whitewater                  paddling spot nearby; Miry Swamp is a swamp right next door to Abbotts Pond. If the weather is pretty, you obtain a brilliant panorama of Bedlam Hill from Abbotts Pond; you can hit the slopes at Woodbury around here. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Abbotts Pond. There are other sites here than Abbotts Pond, for example Fenn Pond, and don't leave Abbotts Pond without first going for a hike along the Naugatuck Trail. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Mount Southington, and Abbotts Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Black Rock State Park is a nice local campground. Lakes are such serene sites, why not check out Turtle Pond in the neighborhood of Abbotts Pond, and locations like Southford Falls State Park are perfect to explore. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Abbotts Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Abbotts Pond dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
