    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Connecticut you can check out Abbott Pond. The high level of rainfall makes Abbott Pond a reasonably wet site; the wettest month of the year is regularly November, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is February. While you're here at Abbott Pond you can take a hike along the Walkabout Trail, and why not camp at Mashamoquet Brook State Park since you're here at Abbott Pond. This place, Abbott Pond, it  
   just has so much outdoors fun stuff. Dry warm beds await you at The Inn at Woodstock Hill.
There are other locations here than Abbott Pond, for example Kelly Ponds, and a quick trip to Abington Brook is beyond doubt a wonderful idea. Yeah, come here to Abbott Pond for a brilliant time. Here at Abbott Pond you'll almost certainly meet some people from Willimantic, and of course, all our national parks are great places to go to and Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers
 
               Valley National Heritage Corridor is no exception. Going for a hike along the Munyan Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and Mashamoquet Brook State Park is a brilliant location to stretch your legs a bit.
Hiking along the Border Trail is tremendous fun, and if you're a golfer then a pleasant nearby course is Harrisville Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. One of the overriding marks of the surroundings of Abbott Pond is Allen Hill; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Killingly (Dayville), Ct is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Quinebaug River offers some splendid whitewater, and why not explore Abbott Dam if you're here.
There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Natchaug River, and if you came for an overnight stay Wolf Den Campground is a glorious place to camp. Summertime highs at Abbott Pond generally tend to be in the 80's; the night is rather chillier of course, typically in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Abbott Pond tend to be in the 10's.
