| | It's true. This lake is incredible for fishing probably because it is little fished. Beetle Spins not so good for us but Rooster Tails and Yo-Zuri Pin's minnow 2'' Rainbow Trout colored did the trick. Four of us went here July '09. The hike was long but worth it. Accompanied by a late morning start, it rained off and on so we didn't get to fish as much as we wanted plus the altitude got to one of us pretty badly. We're lowlanders from the South. A couple of |
extra-strength Tylenol, he was up and around in an hour or so. Next time we'll camp at Upper Chipmunk and each eat our fill of Trout each day. Awesome adventure! Says Joe
It is a really good 4.9 mile hike, if you want to get
| a full day of fishing either wake up early and be at the trail head by five in the morning, or you can get a back country permit and stay over night. The fishing here is amazing. The average angler can catch his limit in a couple of hours. You will mostly see colorado cutthroat at an average of 12-14 inches.A wonderful place to fish, I plan on going a couple of times this summer.(Wont be good for fishing til about jun 15 on. Enjoy! Says Jeremy
