A great nearby hotel is Iron Horse Resort; what would winter be without some skiing at Berthoud Pass. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do near Yankee Doodle Lake. Camping is available at Fourth of July Campground, obviously you could also stop at Woodland Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Be careful coming to the Front Range, you might not ever want to return home again. There's whitewater on Boulder Creek       for all you adrenaline people, and camping at Buckingham Campground is always a great experience. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Winter Park are so inviting nobody can resist, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Yankee Doodle Lake; Guinn Mountain Ski Trail is a good local trail. The summit of Guinn Mountain can be spotted from Yankee Doodle Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Front Range. That right there is lots of enjoyable                  stuff already but it goes on, the Front Range has it all. You can run the rapids of Clear Creek near Yankee Doodle Lake, and the Devils Thumb Trail offers hiking at its best. Skyscraper Dam is not far at all from Yankee Doodle Lake, and there's brilliant hiking along the King Lake Trail. Yankee Doodle Lake is commonly a rather dry place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Summertime highs at Yankee Doodle Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. During the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Yankee Doodle Lake dip into the 0's.
