There's whitewater on South Platte River for all you adrenaline people, and Lost Burro Campground is a magnificent local campground.       All through the warmest time of the year at Wrights Reservoir temperatures are regularly in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. Through the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Wrights Reservoir temperatures dip to the-10's. Yeah, come up here to the Front Range for a great time. You can run the rapids of South Platte River close to Wrights Reservoir, and you'll meet a lot                  of folks from Canon City here. This lake is so wonderful. You're probably addicted to lakes, Beltz Number 2 Reservoir is one of those close by; since you're here you can take a hike along the Phantom Creek Trail. Wrights Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Front Range. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Wrights Reservoir, so little time. Not much rainfall falls here at Wrights Reservoir; the wettest month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A tour to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is recommended; after a long day outdoors Country Lodge is a great place to spend a night or two. The Rule Ridge Trail is a tremendous hiking trail next to Wrights Reservoir; perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Mount Pisgah Reservoir is just a very short distance away. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the Front Range will keep you coming back many times.
