     There's splendid hiking along the Woods Lake Trail; dry warm beds await you at Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge. That right there is loads already, but it continues; Woods Lake has it all. Stay the night at Cayton Campground, and some of the water nearby flows, like Muddy Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Woods Lake is right by the Navajo Lake Trail, and why not head up to Telluride and strap some skis to your feet. Lakes are great; Navajo Lake is a lake that's  
   right next door to Woods Lake; if you need a site to stay Mountain Lodge at Telluride is a good choice.
Burro Bridge Campground is a wonderful campground nearby, and San Miguel River is a great whitewater spot close by. The Wood Lake Trail offers hiking at its best, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Tom Akin Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful.
Summer at Woods Lake comes with high temperatures in the
 
               80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 40's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's while Woods Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. Woods Lake gets very little rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is June.
