If you like lakes and you're in this part of Colorado you can check out Woods Lake. Just can't get enough of the Sawatch Range. Crooked Creek is a great local stream, and Woods Lake is not the only site close by, Tellurium Lake is a close by lake. And if that's not enough there's heaps more exciting things to do in the Sawatch Range. This lake is located in the wonderful Sawatch Range. High temperatures at Woods Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Woods Lake through the winter typically descend into the 0's. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. at close by Crooked Creek Reservoir, and a fine place is Corral Gulch.
If you're going to Woods Lake from Edwards, you won't be the only one; going for a hike on the Ironedge Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so
wonderful. A wonderful site for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Woods Lake is Eagle River. There's so much to do here at Woods Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Fulford Cave Campground is a brilliant place for
that. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the neighborhood of Woods Lake. Aspen Highlands has glorious slopes and a friendly staff, also Crooked Creek Dam is worth visiting since you're here.
You can run the
rapids of Fryingpan River close to Woods Lake; on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Lake Charles Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Arrowhead Village, and do set aside some time for Lime Park while you're here at Woods Lake.
And that's not all the things you can do here in the Sawatch Range. Really good skiing awaits you at Beaver Creek, and Woods Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Elk Wallow Campground is a delightful local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera is a good place to get some rest, and there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby called the Last Chance Trail.
