Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express EAGLE. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Wood Lake; High Trail is a splendid local trail, and the vista of wonderful Maggies Nipple is pleasant. It is very dried up here at Wood Lake regularly; the wettest month of the year is commonly       March, that's the one that snows the most while June is commonly the driest month. If you came for an overnight stay Bucks Campground is a good place to camp. Lakes are great; Rams Horn Lake is a lake that's near Wood Lake. There's fine hiking along the South Derby Trail, and Gardner Park is a magnificent site here at Wood Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Colorado River; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always                  pop by nearby Rams Horn Reservoir. You simply must like Wood Lake. Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a tremendous place to get some rest, and get dripping wet paddling on Sweetwater Creek. Don't leave Wood Lake without first going for a hike along the Ute Trail, and Coal Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Wood Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's.
