Get wet paddling on Elk River, and everyone loves Wolverine Basin. This site, the Park Range, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. Going for a hike on the Wyoming Trail is always a nice adventure. Lakes? Sure, North Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Wolverine Lake without first going for a hike along the Crags Trail; dry warm beds await you at CrossTimbers at Steamboat. Not much rain falls here at Wolverine       Lake; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow, and August on the other hand is the driest. The vicinity where Wolverine Lake is, is dominated by the Park Range, and if you came to camp Summit Lake Campground is a good spot to do that. During the summer months highs here at Wolverine Lake reach the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; nighttime lows                  throughout the winter for Wolverine Lake tend to be in the-10's. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Ptarmigan Lake, and if you need a site to stay Western Lodge is a great choice. The Park Range scenery is always beautiful. The skiing at Steamboat is splendid, and Howelsen Hill is a pleasant local ski area. And if that's not sufficient, there's heaps more to do near Wolverine Lake. If only every spot had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great earth it would be. There are splendid places to explore along the North Lake Trail; camping at Hinman Campground is always a nice experience. So much cool stuff to do in the Park Range, not sufficient time.
