Not much rainfall falls here at Windy Gap Reservoir; most of the rain falls during August while February is generally the driest month. Throughout the months of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Windy Gap Reservoir. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Windy Gap       Reservoir. You can never get enough of the great skiing at SolVista, and a quick visit to Coyote Creek is certainly a good idea. Camping at Tabernash Campground is always a good experience, and the scenery at Bunte Dam is beautiful. Be careful coming to Windy Gap Reservoir, you might not ever want to go home again. Really fine skiing awaits you at Berthoud Pass; a great nearby hotel is Littletree Inn. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Mount Chauncey can                  be observed from Windy Gap Reservoir; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Willow Creek. So many amusing things in the Park Range, just unbelievable. Nearby lakes? Sure, F W Linke Reservoir Number 2 is in the vicinity of Windy Gap Reservoir; get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Colorado River. Going for a hike on the Gilsonite Trail is always a splendid adventure, and Windy Gap Reservoir is good enough to spend more than a day at, Willow Creek Campground is a good local campground.
