It is very dehydrated here at Windy Gap Lake frequently; July is the wettest month with most rain; December is the month with the least moisture. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Windy Gap Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lost Lake Campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Kreutzer Nature Trail. All year is a great time in the Medicine Bow Mountains       if you fancy the outdoors. For you golfers we recommend close by Fox Acres Country Club, and while you're here why not check out Teakettle Canyon. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Cache La Poudre River offers some splendid whitewater, and Mount Margaret is a peak you can distinguish from Windy Gap Lake. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Windy Gap Lake. Windy Gap Lake is not the only spot close by, Lady Moon                  Lake is a close by lake. There's so much to do here at Windy Gap Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Dowdy Lake - Arapaho National Forest is a great location for that. So much fun stuff to do here in the Medicine Bow Mountains, too good to be true. A lake close by is Lone Pine Lake; the Swamp Creek Cutoff Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. At Windy Gap Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Windy Gap Lake are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is one of the great places here in the Medicine Bow Mountains.
