     And that's not all you can do here at Window Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Monument Lake is near Window Lake; after a long day outdoors Fairfield Pagosa Resort is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. You can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Wolf Creek, and there's whitewater on Wolf Creek for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. You're most likely keen on lakes, Upper Fourmile Lake is one of those nearby. There's so much to do here  
   at Window Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cimarrona Campground is a wonderful site for that.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Window Lake has to offer, you can camp at Middle Fork Hunter Campground; going for a hike on the Turkey Lake Trail is always a nice adventure. Around Window Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most,
 
               and June meanwhile is the driest month. Window Lake is a beautiful lake in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The peak of Sugarloaf Mountain can be seen from Window Lake, and hey, Deadman Creek is a brilliant local stream. Dry warm beds await you at Whispering Pines Condominums; you can go for a hike on the Fourmile Stock Trail.
For the duration of the months of summer at Window Lake highs are mostly in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 30's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Window Lake are in the-10's. And if that's not enough there's heaps more enjoyable things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Rainbow Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Rio Grande.

I am a very close relative of the land owners for a significant portion of the East Fork. There is a couple of miles of river that is private land. Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts. I am a guide on the San Juan here and wanted to correct the info about this run. The put in is behind a place called malt shoppe and the Lat/Long of it is: 37. 269902°, -107. 001559°

The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

These are the closest Public put in & take out to the Lat/Long given on the site. Happy Raftin!...
