This lake is so wonderful. Great Sand Dunes Oasis is a great local campground, and close by you hit upon the Cascade Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too fine to be true. The Strawberry Trail is a great hiking       trail right next door to Wilson Reservoir; Mosco Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. Yep, outdoors fun things to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Wilson Reservoir. A lake nearby is Smith Reservoir; if you came for an overnight stay Pinyon Flats Campground is a pleasant site to camp. Going for a hike on the Huerfano Trail is always a perfect adventure, and there's some flowing water nearby, Central Branch is a stream you can stop                  by while here. Summertime at Wilson Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Wilson Reservoir. All year is a pleasant time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. If you haven’t been to Great Sand Dunes National Monument, you ought to schedule some time for it if you're here, and Wilson Dam is striking.
