Best Western Clifton Inn is a magnificent place to get some rest; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Spring Camp Trail. If you need a place to stay Wine Country Inn is a glorious choice; Reeder Mesa is picturesque and can be seen from here. Whiskers Pond gets very little rain; most of the rain falls throughout October; January is the month       with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Whitewater Basin Trail is great fun; a tour to Whiskers Pond wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Kruzen Spring. A splendid place to camp here at Whiskers Pond is Glacier Spring Campground, and going for a hike along the Coal Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Lakes? Sure, Vincent Reservoir Number 1 is around here, and camping at Jumbo Reservoir Campground                  is always a pleasant experience. Gotta ski! Powderhorn is a nice place to do that; Cliff Lake Dam is a scenic site, beyond doubt worth taking a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Whiskers Pond, you'll discover Cliff Lake Reservoir which is a pretty lake, and you can run the rapids of Kannah Creek. Lots of folks from Grand Junction come to Whiskers Pond, and if you want to take a look at some interesting stuff, take a look at Palisade Point. Summer at Whiskers Pond comes with high temperatures in the 90's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. Through the winter highs are typically in the 30's while Whiskers Pond night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up.
