The Red Dirt Trail offers hiking at its best, and get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Elk River. Stagecoach is a great campground nearby, needless to say you could also stop at Apple Dam Reservoir while you're here; it's not far at all. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing       things just keep reading. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Elk Park Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Rabbit Ears Motel. This lake is so wonderful. Steamboat has pleasant slopes and a friendly staff, and if you've had enough of Whetstone Reservoir, Upper Robinson Reservoir is close by. Take a hike on the Big Creek Bridge Trail, and after a long day outdoors Nordic Lodge of Steamboat is a good spot to spend a night or two. It is very dried up                  here at Whetstone Reservoir generally; March is the wettest month with most snow; the driest of the months is June. This lake is so wonderful. This is a popular site for people from Edwards. Through the warm months, highs regularly are in the 80's at Whetstone Reservoir. Summer night lows dip down to the 40's.
