There's pleasant hiking along the Miners Creek Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Gold Pan Campground is a delightful location to camp. Wheeler Lakes gets very little precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. If you get bored of Wheeler Lakes, you could also check out close by Lost       Lake, and everyone loves Wheeler Flats. If only every place had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a great globe it would be. Go for a hike on the Wheeler Trail, and there's whitewater on Arkansas River for all you adrenaline people. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Wheeler Dillion Trail; Wheeler Lakes is not the only place close by, Officers Gulch Pond is a close by lake. Take a side visit to Guller Creek, and why not camp                  at Black Lakes Campground since you're here at Wheeler Lakes. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do in the vicinity of Wheeler Lakes. A good close by hotel is New Village, and you can never get enough of the tremendous skiing at Copper Mountain. At Wheeler Lakes during the summertime highs are in the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Wheeler Lakes overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from Silverthorne here, and Wheeler Lakes is close to McKenzie Gulch which is definitely worth checking out.   Summit House, Copper Mountain Center Village is only a 5 minute walk to the slopes, offering studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom condos.
