Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. There are plenty of people from Silverthorne here at Wheeler Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Wheeler Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kite Lake Campground is a perfect spot for that; Platte Gulch is unquestionably a great place to check out. Do visit       Lake Emma near Wheeler Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and the Wheeler Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby. For the period of the summertime highs here at Wheeler Lake get into the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 30's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Wheeler Lake plunge into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing                  at Copper Mountain, and drift down the rapids of Arkansas River in a kayak. If you come at the right time of year, Arkansas River offers some great whitewater; dry warm beds await you at Copper Junction Condominiums. If you need a place to stay Carbonate Copper Mountain is a pleasant choice, and going for a hike on the Burro Trail is always a fine adventure. Around Wheeler Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here; January on the other hand is the driest. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Breckenridge while you're here; if you came to camp Beaver Creek Campground is a good place to do that. Now, you may imagine that's loads but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Wheeler Lake.
