     You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has to offer. Have a great hiking adventure along the Whitehead Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Vallecito Creek. At West Ute Lake through the summer highs are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 40's. Highs all through the winter are commonly in the 30's while West Ute Lake night low temperatures  
   throughout the winter are in the 0's. Having a nice time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is easy. Mount Nebo is uncomplicated to spot from West Ute Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel.
This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of West Ute Lake, you could also stop by nearby Twin Lakes. The snow is magnificent at Silverton, and you can stay the night at Lost Trail Campground. So many fun things to do at West Ute
 
               Lake, so little time. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Kendall Mountain is near West Ute Lake. There's so much to do here at West Ute Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Vallecito Campground is a nice spot for that.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at West Ute Lake you can take a hike along the Deer Park Trail, and Middle Ute Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. At West Ute Lake you don’t see much rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and June is when it's the driest.
On a perfect day at West Ute Lake you can take a hike along the Ridge Stock Driveway, and there's whitewater on Mineral Creek - South for all you thrill seekers.
