The beauty of West Ute Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at West Ute Lake commonly tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 30's with temperatures at West Ute Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Why not camp at Vallecito Campground since you're here at West Ute Lake; a good spot for whitewater

West Ute Lake is a location that is pretty dried up usually; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is June. You can run the rapids of Vallecito Creek
in the neighborhood of West Ute Lake, and do take a hike on the Whitehead Trail. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff truly is abundant here in the San Juan Mountains. From West Ute Lake you get a good panorama of Mount Nebo; Silverton is
a very popular ski area around here.
This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at West Ute Lake is Lost Trail Campground, and West Ute Lake is not the only place close by, Middle Ute Lake is a close by lake.
