This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge; lots of people from Montrose come here. And if that's not enough there's lots more enjoyable stuff to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. After a long day outdoors Mountain Lodge at Telluride is a good location to spend a night or two, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Alder Creek Trail. Yeah, come here to West Pond for a splendid time. Camping

| | at Country Village RV Ranch Park is always a good experience; there are other places here than West Pond, for example Spring Pond. Hofmann Reservoir is a tremendous lake near West Pond, and you can go for a hike on the Spring Creek Trail. Not much rain falls here at West Pond; July is when you get the most rain here while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. for a hike on the Dallas Trail is always a fine adventure; San Miguel River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Beach Canyon is next
to West Pond and is a great place; Schmidt Spring is a delightful local attraction. Just can't get enough of the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. West Pond is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Centennial RV Park is
a magnificent local campground, and you can hit the slopes at Telluride in close proximity. At West Pond you can catch a sight of Flat Top, and paddling on Uncompahgre River is so much fun. Summer brings highs in the 80's to West
Pond with night lows in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at West Pond descend into the 0's.
