There's whitewater on Cache La Poudre River for all you thrill seekers, and there are wonderful sites to discover along the North Lone Pine Trail. It is very dried up here at West Lake typically; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month of the year is January. All year is a wonderful time in the Medicine Bow Mountains if you love the       outdoors. If you're a golfer then a magnificent nearby course is Fox Acres Country Club; you can go for a hike on the Killpecker Trail. This lake is so wonderful. West Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Bellaire Lake Campground is a great local campground, and after a long day outdoors Fawn Valley Inn is a good site to spend a night or two. West Lake is one of the lakes here in the Medicine Bow Mountains. So many entertaining things                  to do here in the Medicine Bow Mountains, too tremendous to be true. Not far from West Lake, you'll locate Twin Lake which is a picturesque lake, and going for a hike on the Swamp Creek Cutoff Trail is always a great adventure. Summertime highs at West Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for West Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Snake Lake, and Wildcat Canyon is a pleasant place to spend some time.
